5 Seconds Of Summer Announce New Album 5SOS5

5 Seconds Of Summer (5SOS) have announced their fifth studio album titled 5SOS5, alongside a brand new single ‘Me, Myself & I’.

The band took to a Twitter thread on May 11 to reveal a new song from the album track list every half hour, leaving fans eager to know more. Song titles were also tweeted in different languages, paying homage to their ‘Take My Hand World Tour’.

Prior to the track list, the band began teasing the album name 5SOS5 the day before. A series of cryptic tweets popped up on billboards across the world, which the band shared to Twitter.

The highly anticipated announcement comes after the release of two new singles ‘Complete Mess’ in March and ‘Take My Hand’ in April.

The band’s newest release ‘Me, Myself & I’ came out May 11, and frontman Luke spoke to Zane Lowe about the track.

He said: ‘So much of what we had been writing lyrically was extremely introspective. This song fit like a puzzle piece with the rest of the album’.

The music video for ‘Me, Myself & I’ premiered on Friday, May 13. It sees the quartet performing in an abandoned warehouse while showing different versions of themselves.

5SOS5 follows their 2020 album CALM, which was released in the midst of the COVID pandemic and went to number one on the UK charts. The new album will be the band’s first release under BMG records.

‘The whole album is, for me, the most introspective, the most lyrically, if I can say beautiful and… I don’t know. There’s just so much heart in it,’ Luke said, speaking to Zane Lowe.

5SOS5 is available to pre-order now, and is out September 23.
