Becky Milligan is a Freelance Writer for Freshered and a Lead Generator for PROP by GRV Media. The main focus of her articles is mental health, as she strongly believes in reducing the stigma surrounding mental health for university students through education. She also shares stories about her personal university experiences and gives advice for university living. She currently studies Psychology at the University of Sussex and volunteers for Shout 85258. She is an avid animal lover, with two rescue cats called Smudge and Oreo, and she loves to dance and sing in her free time.
Cicely McFarlane is a 23-year-old Graduate from Cardiff University. She has an
undergraduate degree in History, and has just completed her master’s in Journalism, Media, and Communications.
Whilst studying, she contributed to the Student Newspaper, as well as the student magazine named Quench. This fuelled her passion for writing further and enjoys reviews on the latest trends and TV shows, as well as commenting on important issues that occur today.
She is a content writer for Freshered Magazine for over a year where she specifically tailors and creates articles for the Freshered audience. She is excited to grow as a journalist as she continues to expand her topics and horizons.
Darcy is an experienced journalist working on GRV Media’s audience team across Reality Titbit, and HITC. Darcy studied Media and Communications at Goldsmiths University and whilst there she completed a work internship with GRV Media. After gaining a first-class BA (Hons) degree, Darcy joined the team full-time. Since then she has become a social media specialist and her expertise lies in tracking trends. With five years of experience in media, she is particularly passionate about celebrity culture and entertainment. When she’s not writing about The Kardashians, she’s binge-watching it!
Ellie-Rose Baker, alumni of the University of South Wales, is an almost adult, tackling the big wide world with an English and Creative Writing degree in one hand, and a cuppa in the other. A Freelance Journalist for Freshered, Ellie-Rose's primary focus' are navigating postgraduate life, climate change and literature. She also takes her writing inspiration from her other roles which include theatre ushering and English teaching.
Eve Edwards is a staff writer who has been with GRV Media since April 2019. Having gained a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Bristol, Eve joined GRV starting out as a writer for Reality Titbit before making her way over to HITC, with a passion for music, TV, and cultural news. Eve spent 2021-2022 freelancing for GRV Media while she completed a Masters in Music Performance, and brings her wide array of interests to the company in her written work. In Eve's spare time you'll find her working her way through the day's Wordle, Heardle, and Quordle, or struggling to complete The Guardian's cryptic crossword.
Jasmyne Jeffery is a full-time writer on Freshered after working freelance with GRV Media previously. She attended the University of South Wales where she was also a student blogger. In 2022, she graduated with a first-class honours degree in English and Creative Writing. Jasmyne worked briefly for her local newspaper before heading to university and completing an internship at a publishing company. She is now pursuing and loving a career in journalism. Jasmyne has a particular interest in student news, entertainment, and social media, whilst also (trying!) to help put the world to right. Originally from North Devon, she is currently loving the small-city life in Cardiff.
Jennifer is a Manchester-based freelance journalist and has been writing for Freshered since its launch in November 2021. She graduated in December 2022 from The University of Birmingham with a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature, where she spent much of her time writing and reporting for Redbrick Newspaper. A lover of variety, Jennifer covers topics ranging from university advice, live music and theatre reviews, to news and current events, but seeks to expand her work to cover sustainability and the climate crisis. Her aim is to make journalism more accessible to the everyday reader. As a GirlGuiding Volunteer in her spare time, Jennifer is never one to be boring. When she’s not writing she can often be found with her head in a book, trying a new craft, or on the dancefloor.
Jessica Hamilton is a freelance writer for HITC entertainment and has contributed to several sights across GRV media. She is currently on the MA journalism course at Kingston University and is working towards the NCTJ gold standard diploma which she will receive in April. Jessica has had years of experience writing and, like any young journalist, is keen to gain more. Currently residing in London, she is the editor of the Kingston Courier and has even court-reported at the Old Bailey.
Madison Burgess is a final year journalism student at the University of Sheffield. As well as writing for Freshered, she is the Editor-in-Chief of Liberty Belle Magazine, a student-run publication. She is currently freelancing and has written for publications such as the Sheffield Star, Reader's Digest and Pick Me Up! Magazine. She is working towards her NCTJ qualification and her favourite topics to write about are lifestyle, entertainment and fashion.
Manon is a freelance journalist for Freshered. She joined Freshered in February 2022 where she is still working today. As a freelance journalist she enjoys covering everything from international politics to Formula 1 and travelling. Manon is currently in her final year of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham after returning from a year abroad in Vienna, Austria. She hopes to continue her studies in Journalism.
Molly Raby is a freelance journalist who works closely with GRV Media and Freshered. After completing her BA (Hons) in English Language and Creative Writing at Salford University 2022, she began her journey into the world of journalism and copywriting. In addition to writing for Freshered, Molly also wrote for The Gold and Green Crowd (https://goldandgreen.leadpages.co/news/). For this company, Molly interviewed jockeys, horse trainers, anyone and everyone in the horse racing industry. Molly has a passion for film and TV as well as a keen interest in sports, so many of her articles on Freshered surround these topics.
Seth Nobes is a freelance writer for Freshered, focusing on university sport. He is currently studying for an MA in Sports Journalism, as well as the NCTJ diploma, at St Mary's University, Twickenham after graduating with a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Birmingham. Seth is also an editor for the Sports Gazette, with a keen focus on cricket. He has written and commentated on a wide variety of sports, ranging from football and rugby, to sailing and judo, for publications such as Vavel, Deep Extra Cover, Burn FM, and Redbrick. He is also a long-suffering Watford fan, for his sins.
Victoria is a writer from Devon with a passion to raise awareness of period positivity and women's health. She has always enjoyed writing and studied History at Cardiff University, where she wrote her dissertation on the 'Attitudes towards Menstruation in the Early Modern Era' and received a Bachelors Honours Degree. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
Zoe Kramer is a full-time staff writer on Freshered. She graduated from Cardiff University in 2022 with a BA in Journalism, Media and English Literature.
