The TikTok famous restaurant, Karen’s Diner, is set to be opening in Grand Central Birmingham with many fans excited to experience the unique experience.
From the aesthetic diner, amazing food and quirky service, it’s set to bring in a lot of traction, especially with us students. If you want to be the first to dine at the diner then here’s what we know so far.
What Is Karen’s Diner?
Karen’s Diner is an Australian favourite and has started branching out into the UK. Going viral on TikTok, the diner prides itself on providing diners with ‘great burgers and very rude service.’
If you’re thinking that the purposely bad service might consist of simple things like your food being slightly cold then you’d be very wrong in that assumption.
Customers can expect to be shouted out, sworn at and made to wear hats with embarrassing statements on them.
While this sounds like an absolute nightmare for many, customers intentionally book a table at the restaurant hoping that they’ll experience just that. It’s proved to be especially enjoyable if you dine with someone who has no knowledge of the concept and genuinely thinks they are going to eat at a normal restaurant.
Why Do People Enjoy Karen’s Diner?
Wouldn’t people rather eat at a place where they can enjoy a quiet meal without being yelled at every five seconds? Well, Karen’s Diner is actually a play on a popular stereotype. The diner aims to bring out a customer’s inner Karen, wanting them to complain, just for the laughs.
But what is a Karen? A Karen is a stereotypical and increasingly popular term amongst the young generation to describe a woman who complains and moans at the slightest of things. These women often complain and ask to speak to the manager whenever they go somewhere, being extremely difficult and uncooperative. The diner aims to turn everyone into Karen’s to get in on the trend.
When Does Karen’s Diner Open In Birmingham?
Karen’s Diner will open in Grand Central Birmingham in September with booking available from September 2. The diner is open Wednesday – Sunday and will get booked up pretty quickly so you’ll have to move pretty fast if you want to be one of the first to dine there.
