Autumn means that Pumpkin Spice is back. Whilst it seems everyone and their mother is obsessed with the flavour, some of us are looking for something else to warm our cockles.
It’s the time of year many, many people wait for. Starbucks, Pret and many others have their Pumpkin Spice ranges back. There are lattes, muffins, frappuccinos – you name it, it’s everywhere. It’s lovely to see people get so excited over something so simple. But for those of us who don’t like the flavour, it can feel like we’re missing out.
However, just because everyone is talking about and drinking a good ol’ PSL, doesn’t mean that’s the only autumnal drink available.
Costa
Supposedly Britain’s favourite coffee house, Costa Coffee has stayed away from pumpkin spice completely. They always have their chai lattes and regular hot chocolates, which is always an autumn fave. Now, they have a whole new range too.
Costa’s maple hazle range has been introduced this September in latte and hot chocolate form. Advertised with falling crips leaves and an abundance of cream, maple hazel could be your new go-to.
Starbucks
Starbucks is the veteran of pumpkin spice. The American coffee brand has been in the UK for a little while and sent everyone wild with pumpkin spice. However, it’s not the only flavour they have on offer.
It seems maple is a rival for pumpkin spice this year as Starbucks are offering it too. Slightly different to Costa, Starbucks are offering a salted maple and caramel range. They have a latte and iced latte in flavour.
Their autumn range doesn’t stop there though. In the bakery, Starbucks are selling a toffee apple muffin as well as some pumpkin spice goods as well.
Whilst places such as Pret or Cafe Nero haven’t announced any special autumn 2022 drinks, they’re still selling their signature hot chocolates, an absolute must if you’re not a coffee fan. Now the colder weather is coming in, get yourself cosy with whatever your favourite warm drink is. And grab yourself a slice of cake while you’re at it.
