Autumn Fashion Must Haves

As we wave goodbye to our summer wardrobes, it is time to welcome the best season of all for fashion – Autumn!

Turtleneck

Turtlenecks are a staple autumnal fashion piece. They are super versatile! You can dress them up with some smart trousers or a skirt. Or even dress them down in some jeans or joggers (although this is riskier and depends on individual style so don’t come for me if it doesn’t work for you!).

There are also jumper versions of turtlenecks which are fabulous for the colder days in Autumn but also Winter!

If you hadn’t already noticed I love turtlenecks. I believe I have about 10 of them, all in different colours. I’m excited to finally be able to wear them as its now getting colder.

Boots

Boots for the autumn season are a no-brainer! You’ll need a fabulous pair of shoes to go alongside your gorgeous turtleneck, and there is nothing better than some boots.

Personally, I would go for a black pair. My favourites are my black 1460 leather lace up Dr. Martens – a classic autumnal boot.

The great thing about black boots is that you can wear them with almost anything! Wear them to a formal event, dinner out, walk in the park or even to a lecture. They are truly versatile.

Plaid Shirt/Shacket

Plaid shirts often receive a lot of unnecessary backlash and I don’t understand why. They offer a simple way to complete an outfit.

For example, for the cool days where you’re wearing some jeans and a plain white top, a plaid shirt or shacket would add a pop of colour and style to your look!

For those days where you have a busy day on campus but lack the motivation to dress up this fashion piece is needed. No matter what you are wearing you can throw a plaid shirt over it and elevate your outfit.

Scarf

Whether you want a scarf to keep your warm or just to look cool you should feel free to rock one. I recently bought a brown and pink scarf in anticipation for the colder, gloomier days. As much as I love sunny, warm weather, I am ready for it to be gone.

Relaxed Button-Up Shirt

Hear me out, a button-up shirt is perfect for the autumn season. It goes far beyond that too, this transitional piece will fit in with any season.

Picture this. A relaxed white button-up shirt paired with some vintage blue denim jeans and black combat boots. Yes, its a simple outfit but it fits perfectly with the autumn season. For when it gets colder you can throw a cardigan or a jacket over this outfit and you are sorted!
