Sometimes you want to try out someplace new on your night out, but you’re not sure where to go. It can be difficult to choose a place, since you don’t want to pay an entry fee for somewhere you don’t end up staying. Plus, when you’re with a group of friends, everyone has different preferences. But there’s no need to worry — here are some of the best clubs for students in Belfast where you’re sure to have a great time.
Alibi
Alibi offers a fantastic atmosphere with a Hip-Hop and R&B vibe. It’s a modern and trendy space with two floors to explore, with the bottom floor hosting a cocktail bar and the top floor hosting the nightclub. For a super fun no-frills clubbing experience, Alibi is the place to go.
Limelight
Limelight is a remarkably huge venue, so if you haven’t been already it’s a great place to explore. You can wander between four different club spaces, including a rooftop terrace. With a mix of DJs and live music both rock and indie, you’re bound to find something you like. Dance the night away or chill out in one of their beer gardens — Limelight is hard to beat.

Ollie’s
Located in the Cathedral Quarter, Ollie’s provides a truly electric atmosphere. Catch Mumbo Jumbo on Fridays or Nite Tales on Saturdays for a mix of disco, house, hip hop and R&B. The space has a unique feel to it, located inside former bank vaults, with red brick walls and velvet furnishings. There’s even a VIP area which is known for the odd celebrity sighting. All things considered, Ollie’s is a solid choice for your night out.
Thompson’s Garage
Thompson’s Garage is Belfast’s longest running nightclub, having been around for 28 years, so they must be doing something right. The venue includes a two-tiered dancefloor, with bars on both levels, as well as a terrace. Drinks are reasonably priced and they are known for excellent hospitality. Word is that their cocktails are second-to-none. So give Thompson’s Garage a try the next time you go out.
Kremlin
Kremlin is Belfast’s premier LGBT+ club, and it’s a well-deserved reputation. As the name implies, it has a communist Russia theme which is loads of fun. They always have lots of offers on, including some nights with no entry fee and drinks for £3.50. No matter your orientation, you’re sure to have a fantastic night out here.
