Rediscover Where You Live

Just because you’re not traveling doesn’t mean you can’t vacation like a tourist. Go see the big attractions in your city with fresh eyes and take in the sights. It’s a chance to revisit some of the most interesting places where you live, or even discover something new. Looking at your city like a tourist can make it feel brand new.

Have A Self Care Day

It’s perfectly valid to never even leave the house on your staycation. Sleep in, do some yoga, take a long and luxurious bath. Anything you can do to relax and recharge is right on track, even if it’s sitting on the couch and watching Netflix.

Travel In Your Kitchen

You may not be leaving your hometown, but you can travel by trying out recipes from different parts of the world. Cook a meal that you’ve never made before, or something that’s outside of your usual repertoire. Taking time to experiment and find joy in the kitchen is a lot of fun, and you can share your creations with those around you.

Go For A Picnic

If the weather is right, there’s no better way to spend a day off than with a picnic. It doesn’t even have to be a fancy picnic — just a couple of your favourite things to eat, a cold drink and a blanket. Head off to your local park or nature reserve with good company and simply enjoy what the day has to offer.

See A Show

Another fun thing to do for a staycation is to go see a show. This could be a live music gig, a drag show, a play, an opera, or whatever catches your fancy. Going to the theatre is a great way to treat yourself and experience some local culture. Plus, it’s a great excuse to get dressed up.
