As we come into the second half of the year, let’s go through some of the best games to have graced our screens.
Now studios are almost back to full capacity after the Covid 19 pandemic, it seems as though they are putting the peddle to the metal and going full speed ahead with production. We have seen some top tier games this year, so let’s hope there are bigger and better to come.
Dune: Spice Wars
After the success of the 2021 film Dune, this franchise has blown up. With board games, movies, comic books and now an online game, there seems to be no stopping this it.
Released in April of 2022, soley on Windows PC, Dune: Spice Wars see the Houses, Atredies, Harkonnen and Ordos race to monopolise resources. According to Dune themselves, players can ‘experience the unique Dune universe…use secretive agents to sabotage the plans of your opponents. Vote on political resolutions in the Landsraad to further your strategy. Exploit the resources through buildings and spice harvesters to dominate the economy.’
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Throughout the years, Lego games have collaborated with the big swingers in Hollywood. From Harry Potter to Lord Of The Rings, Marvel and now Star Wars.
This is not Lego’s first dip into the pool of Star Wars, but it is the biggest and best game they have produced in conjunction with them. Players are able to fight against evil forces as their favourite characters such as Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, BB-8 and many others. This is the perfect game for seasoned Star Wars fans as well as youngsters who may just be looking for a great intergalactic game.
Nobody Saves the World
This video game, available on Windows PC and Xbox One merges everything into one. Most games get you to pick your character at the beginning of the game, only for you to realise your character can’t fight that well or run quick enuogh to get past that level on standard mode. But, with this game, that is not an issue.
The main character can morph into no less than 15 different characters, ranging from a bodybuilder, mermaid, horse and dragon! Each character has its own abilities waiting to be unlocked.
Players have been loving this quirky game, rating it a strong 92% on Steam.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves
Naughty Dog are one of the best developers out there, giving us some of our favourite video games. Their Uncharted franchise, recently turned into a blockbuster film, is still going strong. There are several versions of this game already out and now we have another story to get behind.
The official description of this game, according to Playstation is:
‘Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. Fate comes calling when Sam, Drake’s presumed dead brother, resurfaces seeking his help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake can’t resist.’
