As the summer term draws to a close with the fun prospect of summer holidays, picnics in the park and activities that you’ve been waiting all year to do come increasingly near; celebrating what, for many, will be their last ever time in the education system is an absolute must!
You want to look back on this time and think that you made note of an important step in anybody’s life, as you start to embark on the path, career, or direction that you want life to go in.
Here are some of the best ways to commemorate the last ever lecture, seminar, or day at University.
A fancy meal or boozy brunch
This is what I suggest for most celebrations, from a birthday to a graduation. This is because it is somewhat more affordable than other options, and can be one last time to get all dressed up together, take pictures, and make some memories before visiting some of your best local clubs and pubs.
Having a sit-down meal in a big group outside of your front room can be quite rare, so this is definitely an occasion to treat yourself to something really enjoyable.

Buy those tickets you’ve always wanted
This could be a show, a concert, or a film that you’ve been talking about for ages. This is now the time to treat yourself. After all the stress, tears, essays and exams, especially during a global pandemic, you deserve it!
Allowing yourself to realise just how big of a deal finishing university is (no matter the year or end result) will allow this special occasion to always have a place in your mind.
A celebration party
This could be an end-of-year house party, or a graduation party with all your course and flatmates. What’s good about this is that, for many people, the majority of their friends are all in the same year, which means the end of uni for all can be celebrated around the same time.
This is a chance for you to enjoy your uni friends and housemates and have a house or (if the weather holds out) a garden party.
This could be the last time you are in close proximity, or actually living with the people you currently do.
So, make a night of it and enjoy some drinks!
