Best Winter Wonderlands And When They Open

Cicely McFarlane November 23, 2022

Winter Wonderland is the definition of Christmas all wrapped up in one event. The lights accompanied by ice skating, the ski lodge bar, and the other food and drink stalls around the market truly make for a wonderful evening. So where are the best Winter Wonderlands and when are they open?

The drinks may be overpriced, while some people prefer watching ice skating than actually doing it. However, winter Wonderland, for me and my friends, is a Christmas must do!

These events are set up across the UK and all have different stretches for how long they run for, as well as what specific rides and activities they include.

Below are three of the most popular winter Wonderland locations. Hopefully one is close enough to you so you can go and make some Christmas memories.

Hyde Park London

This winter Wonderland starts on 19 November and runs until 3 January 2023. This includes over 200 chalet style stalls, huge fairground rides and even an ice slide.

This also has an ice rink, as well as towering rollercoasters. So, if you are an adrenaline junkie, I would definitely suggest this is the winter Wonderland for you.

Pier Head Liverpool

This winter Wonderland has the same start and end date as Hyde Park and is similar in many aspects.

The difference with this winter Wonderland that it has a ride called the Ice Jet.

This has been estimated to reach speeds of up to 80 mph. So it would also be a great destination for you adrenaline junkies out there.

However, if thrill-chasing is not your cup of tea, don’t worry; there are many festive bars and lodges where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the mulled wine.

Cardiff

Cardiff winter Wonderland starts on 15 November and ends on 8 January 2023.

This is the latest winter Wonderland that is open so, if you have plans in the new year to attend some more festivities, this is the place to be.

This year it will be set across two different locations, one by the castle and the other the square, and is much more of a fun fair. There are lots of different games and activities where you can win huge stuffed animal prizes.

There is also a white Ferris wheel which is very picturesque, as well as little snow ski gondolas to sit in as you enjoy a hot drink.
