The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games has launched an official auction and memorabilia marketplace, where fans of the Games can bid on and purchase a piece of sporting history.
Items from the Games are on sale on the official website, and include things from medal ceremonies, Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Queen’s Baton Relay, and official kit worn by athletes.
‘There really is a one of a kind item for everyone’
Each item comes with a certificate of authentication and an official hologram and the collection will also include sporting items featured throughout the Games such as signed rugby balls, beach volleyballs, boxing gloves, and basketballs.
The Birmingham 2022 website states that the proceeds will be going back to the Games to fund important community projects.
David Leather, CEO of CGF Partnerships, said: ‘The memorabilia programme is such a fantastic way to remember some of the most incredible moments from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, whether a ticket holder, collector, super-fan or looking for the perfect gift, there really is a one of a kind item for everyone.’
How to buy the memorabilia collection
You can shop here. There are two options: one collection which you can buy from (be aware – stock is limited), and one collection filled with special auction items you can bid on.
The auction for sporting memorabilia items will end on 21 August at 18:00 BST, and new items are listed everyday. You can place bids on a range of memorabilia, with the bidding price starting at £30.
Gordon MacPherson, Owner and Managing Director of The Retailer Group, said that collaborating with Birmingham 2022 is ‘a privilege.’
‘We are proud to be part of an incredible initiative which allows supporters to own a piece of sporting history and create a lasting legacy,’ he said.
