Blake Lively has reminisced about the premiere date of Gossip Girl being 15 years ago in an emotional Instagram story post.

The 35-year-old actor, who recently just announced her fourth pregnancy with her husband Ryan Reynolds, is as mind blown as the rest of us that it’s been 15 years since we all first heard Kristen Bell’s voice say “XOXO Gossip Girl”.

Blake Lively reminisces over Gossip Girl Premiere date

Lively shared a post from the account Nostalgia Duh showing the original trailer for the iconic teen show. In her story she shared the video, gif implying “mind blown”, and the words “15 years ago today”.

The post explained how Gossip Girl premiered 15 years ago on September 19, 2007, and was based on the book series of the same name following a “group of privileged teens living in New York”.

Lively played the show’s main character, Serena van der Woodsen, an “It-girl” who, like her other friends attended a prestigious private school and thrived in incredibly affluent circles.

The star of the hit Netflix thriller show You, Penn Badgley, played Dan Humphrey Serena’s on-again, off-again, on-again, off-again, boyfriend and, spoiler, the person who started the whole “Gossip Girl” site. But the voice of Gossip Girl was none other than Bell who gave audiences the classic lines.

The success of Gossip Girl led to many adaptations outside the United States and the show received numerous award nominations and won 18 Teen Choice Awards.

Lively even won the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Breakout Female and Choice TV Actress Drama in 2008 as this was her first major television role following starring in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005 and first finding commercial success.

Fans reminisce about Gossip Girl’s premiere date

Lively isn’t the only one who can’t believe the show has reached its fifteenth anniversary, fans on Twitter have all been losing it and reminiscing, some saying “what a show” and others saying they’re inspired to rewatch it.
