Celebrities Who Have Achieved EGOT Status

Achieving EGOT status is something very few people have managed. The acronym, known as Emmy, Grammy, Oscar Tony, is a collection of awards which talented individuals strive to win in their lifetime. Anybody in the entertainment industry is eligible to win all four awards. Actors, singers, producers and songwriters have all won before.

As of 2022, 17 people have EGOT awards, but there are many celebrities who are close to receiving all four. Take a look at the list below to see which celebrities have made it onto the prestigious list so far.

Who has won the EGOT?

Audrey Hepburn

Legendary actress Audrey Hepburn won one Emmy, one Grammy, two Oscars and one Tony. Her EGOT status was completed after her death in 1993. Her performance in Roman Holiday played a large part in the awards.

John Legend

Singer-songwriter John Legend completed his EGOT status in 2018. Legend has one Emmy, ten Grammys, one Oscar and one Tony. He is the youngest and first black man to win an EGOT.

Andrew Lloyd-Webber

Andrew Lloyd Webber achieved his EGOT status in September 2018, when he won an Emmy for his production Jesus Christ Superstar. The composer also has four Grammys, one Oscar and seven Tonys.

Jennifer Hudson

The most recent addition to the list is Jennifer Hudson. The singer achieved EGOT status after being awarded for her work in A Strange Loop at the 2022 Tony Awards. The singer also has one Emmy, two Grammys and an Oscar.

Who is one award away from an EGOT?

Adele

Adele has an EGO… all she needs is a T! The singer has won multiple Grammys, as well as an Oscar for her Bond theme ‘Skyfall’. The singer also recently won an Emmy for her live concert special ‘Adele: One Night Only’.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has an Emmy thanks to his production role on ‘The Beatles: Get Back’, numerous Grammys under his belt, and one Oscar thanks to his time in The Beatles. Now all he needs is a Tony to complete his status.

Eminem

Perhaps the most surprising entry on this list. Eminem needs a Tony, after winning an Emmy for his Super Bowl Halftime show, multiple Grammys and one Oscar.
