TikTok star Chris Olsen recently went viral after a Google search claimed the influencer was over 70 – all down to a simple name mix up.
Olsen is an incredibly successful creator. His account has collected over seven million followers and he was named TikTok’s Sexiest Man by People Magazine in 2020.
Who is Chris Olsen?
Olsen made his grand entrance into the world in December 1997, born in Chevy Chase, in Maryland US, before moving to Washington DC. But he now lives in sunny Los Angeles, California.
Olsen currently has over 600k and 341k followers on Instagram and YouTube respectively, after finding fame during the pandemic in 2020.
The influencer is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and was previously in a long-term relationship with fellow influencer Ian Paget, before the couple broke up at the beginning of this year.
The pair had a YouTube page together called ‘Chris and Ian’, on which they announced their split.
Google says he’s 70
While the influencer doesn’t look a day over 25, if you Google his name today, Tuesday April 19, it shows 75-years-old. All because it doesn’t actually come up with the creator.
Olsen is actually 24-years-old however, according to reports, a mix-up happened on Wikipedia, which is a user-generated website. This means internet users can add, delete or change information on the website pages.
Basically, someone confused the influencer with a child actor from the 70s – a man also named Chris Olsen who is now in his mid-70s.
Olsen did address the mix-up on his TikTok page – something he says he’s had to do several times – and asked his followers to ‘keep up’ with so he doesn’t have to keep addressing.
In the video, which is a reply to a comment asking his age, he ‘confirms’ he’s 75. Obviously he’s joking and loving the ongoing joke due to the mix-up.
