Showcase Cinemas is offering free cinema tickets to all redheads on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 July, as temperatures are set to soar.
Britain is set for its hottest days on record, with some places in the country set to reach a scorching 40 degrees celsius. The Met office has currently issued a red extreme heat warning across England and Wales, which offers a threat to life.
SPF (Sun Protecting Flicks) as Showcase Cinemas named the campaign, is an effort to shelter redheads from the sun.
‘Since redheads are often more vulnerable than most to the sun’s rays, we’re giving them shelter from the sun inside our fully air conditioned cinema screens to catch the latest blockbusters for no cost at all!’ the cinema’s website says.
If you fit the criteria to redeem the offer, show up to the box office of your nearest Showcase Cinema. Then make the most of your free ticket.
Enjoy Marvel’s latest instalment ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, the epic ‘Minions: The Rise of Gru’, or Baz Luhrmann’s groovy ‘Elvis’ Biopic.

The offer comes with terms and conditions such as:
- Available for screenings starting on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 July only.
- One free ticket per transaction and per day for guests with red hair.
- No reimbursement for previously purchased tickets allowed.
- Not available for Gallery seating tickets, and additional charges will apply for other premium seating and / or formats, including XLR, XPlus, 3D and Director’s Hall.
- Not available in conjunction with any other offers or promotions, including Meerkat Movies.
- The decision of Showcase Cinemas in all matters is final and binding.

Speaking about the offer, UK general manager Mark Barlow said: ‘To tackle the heatwave, we’re offering redheads free entry to our cinema screens this Monday and Tuesday, so they’ll be able to enjoy some of the amazing films on offer in the comfort of our air-conditioned cinema screens and ensure they stay protected from the sun’.
