As the weather heats up, we take a look at what hot new movies and TV shows are coming to Netflix in July.

With hundreds of media being added to the popular streaming service every year, their monthly additions ensure there is always something for everyone and always something new to watch. From anime to rom-coms, thrillers to murder mysteries, every genre is catered for this July.

July 1

Stranger Things Volume 4, Part 2– In the last two feature-length episodes the gan must take on the toughest challenge yet, Vecna. So many questions are set to be answered as the hotly-anticipated second part of the penultimate series will finally be here.

July 6

Girl in the Picture– In this true-crime documentary a woman is found dying on the side of the road and her son has been kidnapped. This blows open a decades-long mystery about the woman’s true identity and the murderous federal fugitive at the centre of it all.

Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between – In this book-to-movie adaptation (based upon the novel of the same name by Jennifer E. Smith) Clare and Aidan have made a pact to break up before college with no regrets and no broken hearts. The couple decides to have one massive last goodbye date, but that might be the thing to offer them one last go at love.

July 8

Boo, Bitch– Series starring Lana Condor as a high-school senior who’s lived her life safely under the radar, seizes the opportunity to change her narrative and start living an epic life, only to find out the next morning… she’s a ghost.

The Sea Beast – From the co-director of Disney’s Moana comes a new animated epic about a young girl who gets stowed away on the boat where the crew are legendary monster hunters.

July 15

Persuasion– New retelling of the famous Jane Austen novel of the same name, the movie stars Dakota Johnson as Anne Elliot. Living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy, Anne is a non-conforming woman with modern sensibilities.

When Frederick Wentworth—the dashing one she let get away—crashes back into her life, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances.

July 20

Virgin River– Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark or Jack, Mel begins Season Four with a sense of optimism. Hope is still healing from her car accident and Brie, is intent on proving the innocence of the man she loves.

July 22

The Gray Man – Netflix’s biggest movie to date brings together an all-star cast in an action thriller, with stars such as Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and Regé-Jean Page.
