Creative Themes For the Perfect House Party

Add as preferred source on Google

Have you been to a fair few house parties and are now thinking of hosting your own? Where do you start? Which theme is best to choose? Don’t worry. I’ve got you covered with this list of creative house party themes, so that all you have to worry about is putting a costume together.

#1 – Colour Night

@memriedanielle

10/10 recommend having a theme party with your friends for no reason. pls wait for dark greens 2nd and 3rd appearance😂 #colorparty #greenscreenvideo #bartendersoftiktok #bsfs #wigs #rainbow

♬ Bad Girls – M.I.A.
How fun does this one look! Ask everyone to pick their favourite colour (I’ll take dibs on pink) and then turn up wearing nothing but that colour. Get ready for a very bright and colourful night.

#2 – Supermarket Bag Party

I bet you never thought that supermarket carrier bags could be turned into an outfit? This is such an affordable costume idea (it will cost 5p!) and it is a whole lotta fun! Just remember to wear some clothes underneath, you know, just in case the bag unfortunately splits.

#3 – Disney Party

@caroline._.ackerman

Disney Themed Party 💙 some were missing @Disney @Disney Parks #disney

♬ Pinocchio: When You Wish Upon a Star – Geek Music
There are so many Disney characters out there so there’s bound to be a costume for everyone with this party idea. This one is super cute and brings so much childhood nostalgia with it – how adorable!

#4 – First Letter Party

I love this party because it gives people the choice of so many things to dress up as. The only rule is that they have to dress up as something that begins with the first letter of their name. If you want to jazz it up a little bit you could have them dress up as the first letter of your name (this is especially good if it’s your birthday and you want to be the centre of attention!)

#5 – Dress Like A Song Title

Dressing up as a song title is so creative and original. Not only do guests get to pick their own song to dress up as but they can also interpret it in so many different ways. This is super fun and allows guests to experiment with different outfits. They can also choose a song that works with the clothes that they already own, making it an exciting and practical theme.

#6 – 2000’s Party

The majority of us were children in the 2000’s. This means that dressing up in 2000’s trends is our THING! Nobody wore low-rise jeans and chunky jewellery better than us which means that we would totally pull off a look at a party made for us. Dress up in nostalgic clothing and blast out some McFly on the stereo!

#7 – Different Theme Party

How hilarious. Imagine everyone’s faces as they try to figure out how everyone’s costume relates to the ‘theme.’ Awkward but entertaining! It’s also great for those who are indecisive and can’t pick just one theme.

#8 – Animal Print Party

Everyone ones a piece of animal print clothing right? Well why not cover yourself head to toe in leopard print or maybe looking like a snake is more your thing? Prepare to clash with everyone’s outfits and get ready to go wild!

#9 – Netflix Party

Come on, everyone watches their fair share of Netflix whilst at Uni! Why not host a party in which everyone dresses up as a character from their favourite Netflix show? This one is bound to be fun!

#10 – Neon Party

Fancy glowing in the dark? Tell everyone to come in a neon top and face paint and simply turn off the lights. Make it a night to remember with bright colours glowing throughout the room!
