Former Love Island star, Curtis Pritchard, has slammed contestants for ‘selling their souls for cash’ while giving advice to this year’s cast.
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti have been crowned the winners of 2022 as the show reached the finale after almost two months on television. But as all the contestants now embark on their new journey of navigating life after Love Island, one former Islander has given his words of wisdom.
Curtis’ Love Island advice
Curtis, who found fame after reaching the finals of the fifth series of the show, has come out and told the contestants to stay ‘true’ to themselves and offered further advice.
According to The Sun, the 26-year-old dancer warned the upcoming stars not to ‘read comments’ in order to avoid trolls and not ‘sell their souls’.
He said: ‘Don’t read any comments. Ignore everything bar what you’re doing and what your loved ones are doing. Stay true to yourself. Only do the things you want to do. Don’t sell yourself for the wrong reasons.’
Curtis added: ‘Don’t just follow the money and sell your soul for cash. For one percent it works, but for the other 99 per cent it doesn’t.
‘You’ll only end up not having money or not be happy.’
Curtis’ brother, former Strictly Come Dancing star AJ, added: ‘They think they’re doing stuff that makes them happy, but it’s not going to have longevity. They’ve got a platform and I hope they use it to help charities and do things they’re passionate about.’
Love Island 2022 Final
The final of the eight series came down to four couples: Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri, Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, and Luca Bish and Gemma Owen.
Andre and Tasha came in fourth place, Dami and Indiyah in third, Gemma and Luca in second and Ekin-Su and Davide were the victors to walk away with £50,000 to share as this year there was no part in the competition to see if they were going to ‘choose love or money’ as with previous seasons.
For fans now missing the show, they won’t have to wait too long ITV recently announced there will be two series’ of the show in 2023 – a winter series in South Africa and a summer series in Mallorca.
