Dwayne Johnson comes to us this year as the anti-hero, Black Adam, in a spin-off from 2019’s Shazam! In its opening weekend, the movie grossed $140 million worldwide, making this Johnson’s biggest opening role. But, as with many superhero films before it, fans are asking the same question. So, does Black Adam have a post-credits scene?
What is Black Adam about?
Black Adam is based on the DC comics series which follows a character of the same name.
The film opens in ancient Kahndaq, where Teth-Adam was given almighty powers by the gods. After using these powers for destruction, he was imprisioned deep in the mountains of Kahndaq.
Nearly 5,000 years later, Teth-Adam is released and now faces the modern-day heroes in the Justice Society. The anti-hero must decide whether to use his powers for destruction or protection.
As for those now infamous post-credits scenes, yes, Black Adam has one of its own.
How Many Post-Credits Scenes Are In Black Adam?
Needless to say, there are spoilers ahead. So only read on if you want to know what happens – and who appears – in Black Adam’s post-credits scene.
Nowadays, we are used to several post-credits scenes, however Black Adam gifted us with only one.
Since the beginning of the movie, Teth-Adam has been on Amanda Waller’s radar. After the Justice Society of America couldn’t defeat him, she tells Teth-Adam, via video link, that he must stay in Kahndaq, his new prison.
Teth-Adam, now Black Adam, declares ’No one on Earth can stop me’, to which Waller reminds him that she has people not from Earth in her wheelhouse. The anti-hero challenges her to send everyone she can, and she leaves the call.
Then comes the interesting part. From the mist, a strong frame appears…it’s Superman! Henry Cavill is back and is here to tell Black Adam that it’s ‘been a while since anyone’s made the world this nervous… We should talk.’
This is almost certainly setting us up for a showdown between the two most powerful beings in the DC universe. And this is something that Johnson has teased before.
When talking to Jake’s Takes, he said ‘We will create Black Adam for him to be the most powerful and unstoppable force on this planet. The most powerful and unstoppable force in the entire universe has been on the sidelines for too long.’
