Halloween Ends

This final movie has Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie for the last time in 45 years and shows just how far she’s come from the teenager running from the evil serial killer.

Halloween Ends takes place four years after Lauria’s last encounter with masked killer Michael Myers, and now she’s simply living with her granddaughter and trying to finish her memoir. Myers hasn’t been seen since, and Laurie finally decides to liberate herself from rage and fear and embrace life.

However, when a young man is accused of murdering a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that forces Laurie to confront the evil she can’t control – commencing the final battle between Laurie and Myers.

Of course, the one question on everyone’s mind as this is set to the last movie in the franchise – does Michael Myers die?

It’s not like the characters haven’t been trying to bring Myers down for the last few movies, but even after being beaten, shot and stabbed and still managing to live people would be forgiven for thinking he’s never going to die.

However, if you are hoping to see the end of the original Boogeyman, you’re in luck, Myers does finally die in Halloween Ends.

Halloween Ends Ending Explained

If you’re confused about how the characters managed this, we’ve got the ending explained. The movie opens one year after the events of Halloween Kills, on October 31, 2019, and a teen named Corey is babysitting a young boy, Justin, however, when a prank goes wrong Justin ends up dying.

Cut to 2023 and Laurie is trying to move on with her life and writing a memoir as she lives with her granddaughter Allyson. Following Justin’s death, Corey becomes the town pariah – as the town takes out its anger for what happened with Michael Myers, on Corey.

As Allyson tries to get close to Corey things take a dark turn when he’s chased out of a party and ends up being dragged away to the sewers by Michael Myers – who’s finally reemerged after four years – who clearly took the idea from Pennywise in IT.

Corey manages to escape from Myers, but not before being startled by a homeless man who Corey ends up killing. This is where things have changed for him and now he’s consumed with the anger he has for the town and becomes a Michael Myers 2.0, teaming up with the Boogeyman to enact revenge on all those who’ve been cruel to him.

After killing an ex-boyfriend of Allyson’s – in his own creepy mask – he becomes truly evil like his mentor, but this is picked up by Laurie who’s now very concerned. Things then escalate further when Corey decides to turn on Myers – a big mistake.

Corey takes the mask from Myers and he isn’t going to stand for it. Myers goes after Corey to get the mask back and ultimately kills him to do so. Laurie is now left to have her final battle with her long-time nemesis during which she manages to impale him to a table and pin him under a fridge.

While there she removes his mask, exposing him, and slits his throat. Of course, Myers doesn’t go down easily and tries to kill Laurie – however, he’s unsuccessful as Allyson comes to the rescue, breaks his arms and then they slit his wrists.

Just to make sure Myers is really dead – they have tried many times – his corpse is driven across town for people to see he’s actually gone and then, just to really make sure, Laurie has his body destroyed in a car crusher.

The film ends with Michael Myers very much dead, Allyson leaving to live her life, and Laurie not only finishing her memoir but also a hint she may finally strike up a romance with police chief Frank Hawkins, after their flirting in the second movie.
