Keeping up with all the different acronyms is a tricky task as there is a new one each week. Luckily, we can explain the latest one to confuse the internet. Here is the OMM meaning on Snapchat and TikTok, explaining the multiple things it stands for.

We all laugh at our parents for still using LOL unironically. But with the rate that new acronyms are created, it may be the only one we’re truly confident with soon. Don’t let that happen to you and keep up with the cool kids by visiting our one-stop shop for internet lingo.

This time, it’s OMM which users have been using on Snapchat and TikTok in particular.

The OMM Meaning On Snapchat

It actually has a couple of different meanings, but the most popular one seen on social media stands for ‘On My Momma.’

This is another way of saying ‘I swear’ or ‘on my life’, but brings your mum into it, showing just how serious you are about it.

Examples of how to include it might be ‘OMM that wasn’t me,’ or ‘OMM I’ll be right there.’

It’s more of a slang version of the synonyms above with it first entering the Urban Dictionary in 2010.

You could also use OMM to replace OMG in some situations too. For instance ‘OMM I can’t believe this person.’

With this OMM meaning, the person using it is trying to convince you just how serious or committed they are to what they’re saying. Nobody would bring their mum into it if they weren’t being 100 per cent truthful.

What Else Does OMM Stand For?

Though the above is the main meaning, people on the internet have used OMM to stand for other things as well.

The next most popular would be ‘On My Mind’, or “Off My Mind, meaning that person is telling you what they’ve been thinking about lately. You could use it to be smooth, saying ‘You’ve been OMM’ or ‘I can’t get you OMM.’

The definitions are a little different, so depending on the content you should be able to figure out what meaning is being referred to on Snapchat or anywhere else.

Another potential meaning of the acronym isn’t actually an acronym at all. Sometimes, people use ‘omm’ to refer to something tasty or delicious as well. It sounds a little bit like ‘yum’, but also the sound you make when trying some food.

Again, context should let you know what’s going on so you can figure out the intended meaning.

No doubt they’ll be some more internet lingo to come around and confuse us all again soon. But, for now, you can rest easy knowing all of the OMM meanings on Snapchat, TikTok and more.
