After the success of the first film in 2019, the Knives Out franchise is set to release a second movie.
Knives Out 2, entitled Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will be released September 10, 2022.
Director Rian Johnson hinted at a second film during interviews for the first. However, it was only confirmed in March 2021 when Netflix bought the rights to two sequels of Knives Out for $450 million.
Cinematographer Steve Yedlin (The Brothers Bloom), editor Bob Ducsay (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) and composer Nathan Johnson (Brick) are all returning for the sequel.

Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a getaway on his private Greek island. When someone turns up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc is put on the case.
Any returning cast members?
Surprisingly, director Johnson has declared that he wants the sequel to contain a whole new cast, despite Detective Blanc played by Daniel Craig.
After the massive success of the first installment, it is weird to think there could be a better cast, but Johnson and the casting directors have managed to keep the franchise packed with A-listers.
Edward Norton (Fight Club) is set to play the tech billionaire, Miles Bron.
Actress and singer Janelle Monáe (Harriet) will portray Cassandra ‘Andi’ Brand, a tech entrepreneur.
Other cast memebers will include Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton), Kate Hudson (Mother’s Day), Dave Bautista (Guardian of the Galaxy), Ethan Hawke (Boyhood) Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks) and Jessica Henwick (Game Of Thrones).

Fans and critics alike are excited to see what Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has in store for them, after the massive success of the first film.
The first Knives Out movie received a strong 92% audience rating score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Likewise, it currently has a 7.9/10 rating on IMDb.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has a big hill to climb. But, with such established actors and directors on this film, there is no doubt it will do just as well as its counterpart.
