In 2013, Orphan Black hit our screens and took the world on a wild ride. Sweeping a cool 35 awards throughout its five series, the show was massively successful and fans were heartbroken to see it come to an end in 2017.
What Is Orphan Black?
Orphan Black follows Sarah Manning as she comes to realise that she is one of many clones. Along with her sisters, she tries to figure how and why they were cloned. And they need to do it quickly, as there is an assassin picking them off one by one.
Star of the show Tatiana Maslany shocked the world in Orphan Black. She played no less than 17 different ‘clones’ with various accents and personalities. She also bagged herself a Primetime Emmy for the performances.
Orphan Black: Echoes
Orphan Black posted a note to their dedicated fans at the beginning of April 2022 detailing a new spin-off show.
According to Deadline, the spin off ‘follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.’
As of yet, there is no confirmation that Maslany will be in the show. However, there have been 10 confirmed episodes for the spin-off series.
The show is set to premiere on AMC in 2023 and there is currently no UK release date.
