The Billboard Music Awards took place on Sunday night (May 15) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The award ceremony was hosted by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and featured big wins from the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and Doja Cat.

Who won awards?

Mary J. Blige was announced as the recipient of the Icon Award back in April. The rapper is the 11th artist to receive the award, following the likes of Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson – who presented her with the award.

At the ceremony, Olivia Rodrigo took home seven awards, including top female artist, and Top Billboard 200 Album for ‘Sour’.

Taylor Swift bagged four awards for her re-recording of her 2012 album Red. Drake won five awards, including Top Male Artist.

This year, The Weeknd was the most nominated artist, with 17 nominations. Doja Cat was the most nominated female with 14 nominations to her name.

Who performed?

The evening was packed full of performances from the biggest names in music.

Megan Thee Stallion

After receiving the award for Top Rap Female Artist, Megan Thee Stallion took to the stage to perform a medley of her newest single Plan B, along with Sweetest Pie, her collaboration with Dua Lipa. Surrounded by dancers, Megan put on a show in a black one-piece and got the crowd singing along.

Machine Gun Kelly

The 32-year-old singer took to the stage to dedicate his song ‘Twin Flame’ to his partner Megan Fox. ‘I wrote this song for my wife’, the singer said, sparking rumours that the couple have secretly wed. The rocker also finished his performance by saying ‘This is for our unborn child,’ sending fans into a frenzy.

Florence And The Machine

Florence Welch performed ‘My Love’ from the new album ‘Dance Fever’, the new album was released May 13. Florence looked angelic as she performed in a white dress, while her famous vocals filled the arena.

Who walked the carpet?

Megan Fox attended the awards ceremony in support of her partner Machine Gun Kelly. She sported a stunning dress by David Koma which featured a crystal flower on her shoulder, a thigh slit and black gloves.

Kylie Jenner and Stormi attended the ceremony to cheer on Travis Scott. He performed at the awards for the first time since the Astroworld tragedy in November. Kylie wore Balmain as she supported Travis.
