International Youth Day is celebrated on 12 August this year. This annual event always has a different theme, and this time around it is Intergenerational Solidarity.

This means that it is creating a world for all ages. This is in the hope to create a sustainable development goal, and for future generations to be able to thrive in a healthy and productive environment.

A sustainable environment is a huge goal to achieve and everyone can do their part in helping to create a better world and fight climate change.

What is International Youth Day?

This day focuses on teenagers’ roles in society and their importance to the wider world.

It is not only to protect them and who they are, but also to include them in the future of where the world is going and how to improve this direction overall.

No matter your background, everybody is involved on this day to try to create a better environment. This event also recognises the challenges that young people face today and attempts to help those who are in more difficult situations. If you are aged 15 to 24, this International Youth Day is all about you.
