Dumbledore then replies: ‘It’s Because I was in love with you.’

What We Know About Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

The film picks up sometime after the second film and follows Newt Scamander – played for the third time by Eddie Redmayne – and his friends as they attempt to stop Grindelwald.

Grindelwald wants to seize control of the wizarding world, so Dumbledore and Newt lead a team on a dangerous mission where they encounter old and new beasts and Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers.

Mikkelsen is taking on the role of Grindlewald for this movie after replacing Johnny Depp who was dropped from the movie after losing his libel case against The Sun for labelling him a “wife beater”.

Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, William Nadylam and Katherine Waterston also star.

Fantastic Beast: The Secrets of Dumbledore will hit cinemas on April 8 – months before the planned release date in July 2022.
