Fans are praising the acting abilities of Evan Peters in his latest role as the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in Netflix’s true crime series Dahmer.

Peters plays the titular character in Dahmer: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which only dropped on the streaming site yesterday (September 21). Fans are already going crazy for the fantastic talent Peters and other characters have shown in taking on key roles.

Dahmer: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story

Dahmer: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is a series that exposes these unconscionable crimes, centred around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers, Jeffrey Dahmer, to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade.

In the ten-episode series, Dahmer’s horrific crimes are shown, in a way, from the point of view style through the lens of his victims. Between 1978 and 1991, the murderer gruesomely took the lives of seventeen innocent men and boys before finally being apprehended and eventually died later in a prison attack.

The show also stars Richard Jenkins as Lionel Dahmer, Molly Ringwald as Shari Dahmer, Michael Learned as Catherine Dahmer and Niecy Nash as Glenda Cleveland.

Fans praise Evan Peters Dahmer acting abilities

Within hours of the show being on Netflix, many fans have already binged the series and have taken to Twitter to praise Peters’ acting ability in his portrayal of the infamous killer.

Others praised the acting and casting of other characters including the sister of a victim who spoke in court.

Then there were some fans who were against the show saying it “romanticises” serial killers like Dahmer.

The drama also highlighted the failures of the police at the time and many fans watching couldn’t believe the police “didn’t act” in time.
