Taylor Swift has released the re-recorded version of her song ‘This Love’, after making the announcement on her Instagram on Thursday, 5 May.
The song marks the second re-recorded track that we’ve heard from her 2014 album ‘1989’. Back in September, the singer unexpectedly released ‘Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)’.
‘This Love (My Version!) is out and I’m currently reliving the 1989 tour in my head and spiraling, it’s fine’ the singer revealed in an Instagram post.
After the release of the track, fans took to Twitter to share their excitement.
The singer is currently re-recording albums due to a disagreement with her former record label. Her masters were then sold to Scooter Braun without her permission.
Shortly after the announcement, the singer released ‘1989’ and ‘Speak Now’ merchandise on her web store, sending fans into a frenzy. The collection, titled ‘The Old Taylor Collection’ features items such as a ‘Shake It Off’ T-Shirt and a ‘Speak Now’ necklace.
Fans are beginning to speculate whether the singer-songwriter will drop both albums back-to-back or both at once.
Are there any differences between the original track and Taylor’s Version?
Speaking to People about the re-recording process, Taylor said: ‘In terms of production, I really wanted to stay very loyal to the initial melodies that I had thought of for these songs. And so we really did go in and try to create a “the same but better” version’.
‘We kept all the same parts that I initially dreamed up for these songs. But if there was any way that we could improve upon the sonic quality, we did.
‘But yeah, I did go in line by line and listen to every single vocal and think, you know, what are my inflections here. If I can improve upon it, I did.’
Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that Taylor appears to have changed a lyric in ‘This Love (Taylor’s Version)’. The singer has changed a word in the second verse of the song from ‘and’ to ‘baby’.
Another fan made a side-by-side comparison of the two versions and their differences.
Although Swifties are almost certain ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ is coming next, fans never be 100 per cent sure. For now, we will have to keep hunting for Easter eggs and clues until Taylor makes her next official announcement.
