A Disney film announcement confirmed some sequels are coming our way. One in particular, has caught people’s attention and not in a good way. After thinking we were done with the third instalment, it looks like Toy Story 5 will be coming to our screens in the future. Taking to Twitter with their mixed reactions, fans aren’t overly pleased at the prospect.

We all thought that Toy Story 3 was the final addition to the much-loved franchise. Andy grew up and the toys found a new home with Bonnie. It’ll be hard to find anyone who didn’t think it was the perfect send off.

Except it wasnt.

A few years later, when then got Toy Story 4, which already annoyed some fans who thought it was a cash-grab and unnecessary. Even that wasn’t it, when the Lightyear prequel was released last year — but we could rest easy knowing that was it.

Except it wasn’t.

Now, Disney has confirmed that we will be getting another installment, Toy Story 5, as well as other sequels in the near future. Though some fans will be glad to see the characters back, there has been an overwhelming negative reactions to Toy Story 5.

Disney Film Announcement Plans For 3 Sequels Including Toy Story 5

Although it’s the Toy Story 5 news that’s caught everyone’s attention, it’s not the only sequel Disney has up their sleeve.

Announced to Investor Relations that the company has suffered a loss of 2.4 million subscribers on Disney+ and will have to lay-off 7,000 members of staff. Still, some movie sequels will make light of the situation.

Zootopia 2

Firstly, Zootopia 2 is coming to our screens. Out of the three announed, this is the one to make the most sense. The first film came out in 2016 and so a second film is probably due. Starring Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, the film was set in a world of animals were a bunny and a fox come together to solve a crime. It wasn’t Disney’s best, but a sequel is pretty inoffensive.

Frozen 3

Next up, is Frozen 3. Now, you either groaned upon hearing the news or you’re already feeling excited. Frozen has always been a marmite franchise, and it didn’t help that you couldn’t avoid Idina Menzel‘s Let It Go for the best part of 5 years when the first one was released. Whatever your opinion, you can’t deny that the first two installments have been popular, so a third one was always probable. Though any think it isn’t necessary, there are still definitely a lot of fans (who have grown a lot since Frozen was released in 2013) who will be piling into the cinema to watch it.

And then there was Toy Story 5. We all believed that Toy Story 3 was it, and it wrapped up the franchise pretty well, but it looks as if we’re getting even more. Not only were fans annoyed at the news, but also that more money was being poured into unnecessary sequels, when new and orginal films don’t get the same treatment.

Twitter Is Filled With Negactive Reactions To Toy Story 5

Turns out, it isn’t a film that even fans of the franchise want. Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, reactions to Toy Story 5 have been far from good.

There’s nothing like a good ol’ meme to accurately portray our feelings. Sure, we’re more than okay with Zootopia 2, but not Toy Story 5.

Everybody thought that Toy Story 4 was one last hurrah, so we’re going to need an explanation for another sequel.

Another meme, another negative reaction to Toy Story 5. The Disney film announcement just progressively gets worse.

Others can’t help but notice than the news is somewhat of a diversion tactic.

Toy Story 3 could have easily ended the franchise, yet somehow we’ve gotten another 2 films.

It’s never an easy ride for the toys. A fifth film is just going to put them through more trauma and we just want them to be happy!

It seems slightly ambigous whether people want Toy Story 5 or not.

The question on everyone’s mind.

We’re sure it won’t be a flop, but then at least it would stop them making anymore sequels.

Perhaps this will truely be the ending to all endings.

So, whether we like it or not (it seems, overwhelmingly, not) Toy Story 5 will be released in the coming years. It’s not certain whether it will be the last one or not, but also wouldn’t be surprised if there’s someone writing a Toy Story script where Andy gets his pension.
