The trailer for the upcoming Disney Pinocchio remake has dropped and fans say Cynthia Erivo looks ‘flawless’ as the Blue Fairy.

Ahead of the global celebration of Disney+ Day returning on September 8, leading into D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney Studios has dropped the trailer for the highly-anticipated Pinocchio remake.

The streaming service will host special experiences for fans and subscribers, and will premiere new content from its marquee brands, including the return of the beloved Disney franchise in the all-new live-action Pinocchio on Disney+ Day.

Pinocchio trailer drops

In the trailer it gives audiences a first look at the moment Geppetto – played by Tom Hanks – first carves Pinocchio, – brought to life by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth – out of a block of wood and the Blue fairy – stunningly portrayed by Cynthia Erivo – bringing him to life.

The video also gives a hand full of shots showing how the film will focus on Jiminy Cricket (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) as well as giving fans a first look at other characters such as Sofia the Seagull and “Honest” John Worthington Foulfellow, a slick-talking fox.

From the trailer, it seems as if the film won’t be straying far from the original movie – bar adding new characters. Also starring in the movie are Luke Evans, Kyanne Lamaya, Giuseppe Battiston, Lorraine Bracco, and Lewin Lloyd.

Cynthia Erivo’s ‘Flawless’ Blue Fairy

While others have said he singing the song ‘When you wish upon a star’ has given them a reason to watch the movie.
