Rumours of the Dancing with the Stars season 31 cast have been swirling for weeks, but now fans are calling it “embarrassing” after two contestants’ names were leaked.
According to TMZ, TikTok star Charli D’Amelio and her mother, Heidi, will compete in this year’s Dancing with the Stars (DWTS), against each other.

In the show, presented by former model and former America’s Next Top Model presenter Tyra Banks, celebrities partner up with professional dancers and battle off each week, until a winner is named.
TMZ reported a producer for the show confirmed Charli and Heidi will participate. The pair are influencers and TikTok stars as Charli has an eye-watering 145.7M followers on TikTok and 49M on Instagram and Heidi also just celebrated 10 million followers on her own TikTok.
This wouldn’t be their first time dancing as they both do routines for the video-sharing app and last year 18-year-old Charli danced with Derek Hough and his sister Julianne on their show, Step Into…The Movies, where they did a routine from Dirty Dancing.
Fans criticise DWTS season 31 cast
However, some fans of the show do not seem too happy with the DWTS season 31 cast and some have called it “embarrassing” that Charli’s mom is going to be on the show. Some even sarcastically called the possible contestants “interesting” and one person simply commented, “not awesome”.
Other celebs have yet to be named from the show but fans have been speculating for weeks as the show date approaches.
DWTS is set to premiere on Monday, September 19, on its new home of Disney+ after making the move from its spot on ABC after 17 years.
