Films To Watch Before You Go Travelling

Victoria Causley January 22, 2023

Have you just booked your first spontaneous trip around the world? Going somewhere totally new? Here are a few films to watch before you go travelling to get you in the mood.

Eat Pray Love (2010)

If you’re heading somewhere solo, then you’ll definitely want to watch this one before you go. And if you’re going to Bali, then even more so! The story follows a woman and her search to find herself and true happiness through travel via Italy, India, and Indonesia.

Through the troubles of heartbreak, she discovers more than she could ever imagine through the beauty of travel. If you’re heading somewhere to ‘find yourself’ like a lot of people do when travelling, watch this film and find peace within yourself and the universe!

The Beach (2000)

Off on a backpacking trip? Then this is the movie for you. It’s a must-see before your journey. Following Leonardo DiCaprio as a traveller looking for paradise amongst the islands in Thailand. It’s an iconic film showing the desperation and desire to have a blissful life while reminding you that what you have already might be enough.

Everything might not always be what it seems on the other side. You can also read this story too, if you’d rather take the novels with you on your trip.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again (2018)

Not every film to watch before you go travelling needs to be serious. With music, blue seas, and sunshine, this film will certainly get you in the mood for a holiday. This sequel follows Donna’s backpacking journey through paradise after paradise. Give it a watch.

The Inbetweeners 2 (2014)

Heading to the Land Down Under? Then The Inbetweeners 2 movie will be the one to watch. Watch the boys travel through all of the tourist spots you’ll probably see on your own trip. Beware, there’s a lot of drinking hangovers, and more hangovers in this film.

So if you’re packing up and ready to jet off soon, give these films a watch or download them for your flight. You’re in for the journey of a lifetime.

Bon Voyage!
