The love story between Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray is an absolute classic. Dirty Dancing is a film that you can find comfort in on those rainy days, when you’re going through heartbreak, or just if you’re in the mood for a bit of romance.
Nothing can beat the scene and the famous lift as ‘I’ve had the time of my life’ rings out. The whole film is an absolute joy to watch, and the playlist is constantly on repeat for me. When the news broke that there will be a Dirty Dancing sequel, the Internet went crazy.
Especially with the news that Jennifer Gray (who plays Baby), heavily endorses Harry Styles to feature in this film, as she will also be returning. As one of the most loved pop stars at the moment, he would be a perfect addition.
However, there are worries that a sequel can sometimes butcher the whole storyline if it is no good.
Following a classic
I don’t believe the second will be anywhere near as moving or iconic, due to the late great Patrick Swayze’s tragic passng. He and Grey made the original film their own and were a huge part of what made it great. But this doesn’t mean I don’t have high hopes for the next one.
The storyline is still unknown to the general public. However, we can surely expect a great soundtrack, excellent casting and iconic scenes.
Hopefully, we can even get another scene with the famous lift in it. Of course, it would be paying tribute to Swayze himself.
