Have you got a friend that needs cheering up? They’ve been getting down about life, their grades or their relationship and need not only a big hug but a little treat too.

2. Message them something nice
Whether they’re a softie or not, everyone loves getting a heart-warming message. And when you’re feeling down it’s often due to insecurities and you start putting yourself down a lot more than you should. Pick them up by sending them a kind, friendly message.
Tell them how great they are and remind them that they’re an asset to your life. What would we do without good friends, right?
3. Take them out
You don’t have to pay for everything or have a lot of money to take your friend out for the day to cheer them up. And you probably know yourself that receiving an invite out somewhere is always a nice message. So why not cheer them up by taking them out? You could go for a walk, a picnic, to see a movie or for some drinks.
4. Send them a smiley postcard
You can get cheap postcards on websites like Moonpig or make your own. Write a little pick-me-up message and send it/post it through their door. Sometimes it’s the little thoughtful messages that make the biggest difference to someone’s day. Put a smile on their face in the simplest of ways.
5. Book something
We often get stuck in a bit of a rut and sometimes all we need is something to look forward to! If you’ve got a bit to spend, why not ask your friends if they want to book a trip away? And if you’re on a budget you can still make some cheap weekend plans! Movie nights, games nights and takeaway evenings are all ideas to put on the calendar. Make some plans and keep busy.
Try some of these tips to make your friend smile and they’ll be cheered up in no time.
