High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has officially been renewed for season four, two months before season three hits Disney+.

On Disney+ ‘streaming day’ it was announced, on Twitter, the series, which launched the career of global superstar Olivia Rodrigo, would return for a season four – and they also gave a sneak peek of the upcoming season three.

HSMTMTS followed the story of the students who attended the high school used for the box office hit movies High School Musical (one, two and three) and was such a success in its first two seasons it not only launched the career of Good 4 U singer Rodrigo, but also her co-star Joshua Bassett.

The singer was a featured main cast member for the first two seasons, but it’s been rumoured whether she’ll return to the series. According to the upcoming season three news, she is set to guest star but not be a regular on the show.

As for season four, all plot and cast details are being kept tightly under wraps, so there’s no news on whether she’ll make an appearance or not.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, said they can’t see what’s in store for the Wildcats next’. Davis said: ‘This series continues to deliver best in class drama, humour, and heart.
