Weekend two of Coachella has been phenomenal and day two featured performances from some of the biggest names in music such as Billie Eilish, Disclosure and Rina Sawayama.
Here are some of the highlights from day two.
Conan Gray
This year’s festival marked a Coachella debut for the singer-songwriter. Conan Gray took to the Coachella Stage to perform his hits such as ‘Heather’, ‘Wish You Were Sober’ and ‘Maniac’ as he got the crowd singing along. The singer performed in a stunning sequin pink jumpsuit, similar to his hot pink custom Valentino ensemble the week before.
Billie Eilish
After photos surfaced of the singer watching Harry Styles’ set the night before, Billie Eilish took to the stage Saturday night to headline. Billie surprised the audience with Paramore’s Hayley Williams as the duo sang the band’s 2007 song ‘Misery Business’.
Until the acoustic performance at Coachella, Paramore had retired the song from setlists due to an ongoing debate as to whether the song was ‘anti-feminist’. Williams left the stage after their duet, before joining Eilish again later on to sing her hit ‘Happier Than Ever’.
After their duet, of ‘Misery Business’ Eilish performed ‘Getting Older’, during which the singer forgot most of the lyrics. But her brother FINNEAS, helped jog her memory. After the song, Eilish could be heard falling over. ‘I just ate s***, ouch! You guys, I just ate a** up here, I’m good… It was dark. Ouch! I tripped on the f***ing fire thing.’ She shouted.
Disclosure
The electronic music duo took to the Outdoor Theatre on Saturday. They played hits such as ‘White Noise’, ‘Nocturnal’ and ‘You’ve Got To Let Go If You Want To Be Free’. The duo surprised the crowd with an appearance from British pop star Raye, as they performed their collaboration ‘Waterfall’ for eager dance and deep house music fans.
100 gecs
The quirky duo, consisting of Laura Les and Dylan Brady, played the Sahara Stage to a full crowd on Saturday. They played songs such as ‘mememe’, ‘money machine’ and 800db cloud’. The duo, dressed in bright colours and funky hats, kept the energy high and the crowd going as they performed their famous hyper pop hits.
Last weekend the duo had their set cut short, as crew members started to remove gear from the stage midway through ‘money machine’, before Les and Brady were escorted offstage. Angry crowd members chanted ‘gecs gecs gecs’ in support.
Who is performing Sunday?
Artists such as Doja Cat, Dave, Olivia O’Brien, Beabadoobee and FINNEAS are all performing on Sunday. Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd are Headlining.
Sunday is the final day of Coachella 2022, so there are bound to be lots of surprises in store.
