BUCS is a key part of both university sport and life, faciliting competition in over 50 sports. With so many, it’s difficult to keep up with every team’s results. Many students will be intrigued by these, but not know where to find them. Well, you need look no further. University of Birmingham
The Women’s Hockey first team are having a season to remember, leading the ICG Premier National with an impressive five wins from five. In Men’s Hockey, the fourth team are on a promotion charge, currently topping the Midlands Tier 2. In American Football, three wins from five games sees the Birmingham Lions sat in second place, with a 44-0 drubbing of Swansea a highlight of the season so far. In squash, all four of the teams from Birmingham amazing sit in first in their respective leagues.
University of Edinburgh
The table does not tell the whole story in the Womens’ Basketball Premier North, with Edinburgh 1’s down in fifth, but only six points off the top with a game in hand. The Mens’ team are challenging for promotion from the Scottish Tier 1, with their nine points seeing them second. This article makes for sweet reading if you are part of the Men’s Lacrosse first team. They currently sit in pole position for promotion from the Scottish Tier 1, picking up 12 points out of a possible 15.
University of Nottingham
It is proving to be a successful season for both the Men’s and Women’s Football teams, with the teams from Nottingham currently leading five out of the eight leagues they are competing. In Rugby Union, the Mens’ first team lead the way in the second division, the Premier North, with third team also topping their table. In Women’s Dodgeball, the season is not proving quite so fruitful, with the first team yet to pick up a point in the Midlands Tier 1.
Cardiff University
2022 could be Cardiff’s year with regards to Netball, given that their first team are leading the promotion charge in the EY Western Tier 1, with just one loss in seven games. In Water Polo news, the Men look to have confirmed another season in the Premier South despite their second bottom placing, given Exeter sit on -2 points. And for the women, it is a case of what could have been, finishing the season just two points off top spot in the Premier South.
Manchester Metropolitan University
In Hockey, there seems to be something about the Northern Tier 2 that students from Manchester Met have taken a liking to, given both their Mens and Womens first team lead the way in both leagues. With regards to football, it has been a successful season thus far for all three of the Mens’ teams. The firsts lead the way in the Northern Tier 3, and the second and third team make up the top two in the Northern Tier 4, placed in that order.
