To Star Wars fan all over the planet May 4th is a very special day. It’s Star Wars day. Fans of the franchise will get together on May 4th to celebrate the iconic movies and franchise created by George Lucas, its creator. But you might be wondering how you can celebrate the day. Look no further because here are some fun things to do on Star Wars day.
What is Star Wars Day?
May 4th is known all over the world as Star Wars Day. Why you might ask? Because May the 4th Be With You. Get it? May the force be with you? The famous phrase that Jedi masters repeat all throughout the movies franchise? Well this phrase is one of the central elements of the saga. May the 4th is the perfect day to celebrate as it sounds just like it.
This day is special to the franchise’s many fans worldwide as it celebrates the mythical franchise created by George Lucas.
Have a Star Wars movie marathon
With nine movies from 1977 to 2019, there are plenty of movies to watch. However, considering how long the movies are, especially the last trilogy, it’s unlikely that anyone could watch all of these movies at once. But if you wanted to attempt it there are a few ways to go about it.
The first one is to go down the traditional route. Watch the 1977, 1980 and 1983 movies, then the 2000s trilogy staring non other than Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, and finally the latest trilogy which follows Rey. This would be the order in which they were released.
Or you could watch it in the order they were intended to be released. The 2000s trilogy, the 1980s trilogy with Luke Skywalker and Han Solo and then end with the most recent trilogy.
Whichever route you choose, grab some popcorn because it’s going to be a long day.

Watch the ‘less appreciated’ Star Wars universe movies
Want to be original and watch something different than just the Star Wars movies? Then you could consider watching the films which aren’t about the Jedis but some of the other less well known character. For instance you could watch Rogue One: A Star Wars movie which follows Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor as they risk their lives to steal the plans of the Death Star and give them to the rebels.
The other option (or if you wanted to watch both) would be to watch Solo: A Star Wars Story. This follows Han Solo as meets the iconic Chewbacca. Han Solo joins a band of smugglers to steal some coaxium from Kessel. In A New Hope, Solo mentions that the Millenium Falcon ‘made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs’. Well this would be the movie to watch if you want to get that episode.
Grab some popcorn and watch some incredible action unfold on your screen.

The Big Bang Theory pays tribute to the franchise
If on top of being a Star Wars fan you love the Big Bang Theory, than no one does celebrate Star Wars Day better than Sheldon, Leonard and the gang.
In the Season 8 episode ‘The Skywalker Incursion,’ Leonard and Sheldon go out of town for a conference. On the way down they decide to stop at Skywalker Ranch and encounter a couple of issues trying to meet George Lucas. Which they don’t get to see unfortunately.
In Season 5, ‘The Weekend Vortex’ the gang unites to play the Star Wars video game over the weekend in order to relive their glory days.
And in Season 11, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker himself), makes a guest appearance officiating Sheldon and Amy’s wedding. It doesn’t get more Star Wars than that. And there are more Big Bang Theory x Star Wars episodes but we have more to cover.
Bake some themed foods
