It’s always been guessing and asking mothers, who always give you that tilted-head grimace when you want to try something new. Now, social media is helping out by letting us know what sort of colours will work or not through the colour palette trend.
What Is The TikTok Colour Palette Trend?
The TikTok colour palette trend uses your camera to insert your face in the middle of different colour palettes. Depending on the test, you’ll easier be able to pick which colours you think suit your most, or you’ll be told.
The palettes are often grouped by the seasons depending on the tone. Summer tones will be warmer and winter tones will be colder. None of the palettes are meant to be better or worse than the other, it’s just so it’s easier to identify for you.

How To Do The TikTok Colour Palette Test
There are a couple of ways to do the test, either through TikTok itself or a separate website.
Lots of people are using Colorwise to take part in the colour palette trend, and here’s how.
Once on the website, click discover your palette. On the next page, scroll down until you see the button ‘Browse’ which will direct you to your photo library to upload a photo of your face. You’ll then have to crop it so that the picture is just of your face for the colour analyser test to work. However, you will want to include a bit of your hair in the photo so that can be analysed too.
Once you’ve cropped your photo, press ‘Get Started’ where you’ll need to use the colour picker tool to select your hair, eye and skin colour. Once you’re happy, press ‘Next’ and you’ll be presented with your colour palette! The test will let you know what colours suit you best and which to avoid.
A similar feature is on TikTok. Whilst it won’t tell you exactly what colours to avoid, it does give you a little more freedom.
