Let’s be honest, Halloween isn’t everyone’s favourite holiday, but that’s ok as there are many ways to enjoy it whether you’re a fan or not.
It’s perfectly normal to not enjoy a holiday, for whatever reason, and if that’s the case for you we have some ideas on how to enjoy Halloween when you’re not a fan of the holiday.
Have a movie night with your friends
If you don’t fancy a night out, which is totally fine because not everyone does, grab your friends and spend quality time together.
Choose a movie, Halloween or not, the choice is yours and bring out the snacks. Go all out on the snacks. Make a cheese board, bring the popcorn, the cupcakes and the drinks.
Whatever floats your boat. If you don’t enjoy the holiday you should do something that makes you happy. Go all out on the snacks, don’t hold back. And don’t be stingy. Watch however many movies you want. Halloween or not. Fall asleep in front of the TV. And if you are nice, you can open the door to trick or treaters. Totally up to you.

Watch your favourite series of Halloween specials
What better time might there be to watch the Halloween episodes of your favourite series? From Friends and The Big Bang Theory to Modern Family, there are a lot of choices. And to make it easier here is a list of Halloween episodes to some great sitcoms.
To watch Sheldon Cooper dressed as the Doppler effect or as Howard Wolowitz then re-watch The Big Bang Theory Halloween episodes. Who knows you might even get some costume ideas if dressing up is your thing.
Season 1, Episode 6, Season 5, Episode 7, Season 6, Episode 5, Season 12, Episode 6.
Over ten seasons of Friends we got many Christmas and Thanksgiving episodes but only one dedicated Halloween episode. So if you want to watch Chandler Bing dressed as a big pink bunny then skip ahead to Season 8 Episode 6.
How I Met Your Mother also served us with quite a few Halloween episodes. If you want to see the slutty pumpkin and the return of the slutty pumpkin then go to Season 1, Episode 6, Season 6, Episode 7, Season 7 Episode 8.
Gilmore Girls doesn’t have a set Halloween episode but the closest we get throughout the seven-season series is Season 6, Episode 7. And for those who like the revival then the Autumn episode is perfect for that.
Claire Dunphy’s love of Halloween means that there are plenty of Halloween episodes throughout the 11 seasons of the series. However, you don’t have to celebrate quite like Claire. Celebrate Halloween the way you want.
Season 2, Episode 6, Seasons 4, Episode 5, Season 6, Episode 6, Season 8, Episode 5, Season 9, Episode 5, Season 10, Episode 5, Season 11, Episode 5.

Do some baking
If you like to bake and want to have a cosy night with some treats by yourself (or with someone else totally up to you!) then do some baking. Bake whatever makes you happy. It doesn’t have to be Halloween related. Not everyone likes the holiday.
But if you do want to Halloween up your baking and want to bake cupcakes then use some Halloween-themed cupcake/muffin liners. This can be a great way to celebrate the holiday.
If you would rather cook instead of bake then that’s alright as well. Do whatever makes you happy. That’s the most important.
Have an anti-Halloween party
In the cases where Halloween is really not your thing then what better way to celebrate than by being a Halloween grinch? Have your friends over (or don’t if you don’t want to) and don’t carve pumpkins, ignore trick or treaters. Watch a romantic comedy or anything that is not related to Halloween.
Halloween is not the holiday for everyone and you don’t have to treat the day as anything different.
Have a self-care night and go to bed early
Ignore the trick-or-treaters that might ring your bell. Make good use of a possibly empty house. Take a bath if you have one, or a nice hot shower. Put on a face mask and watch your favourite show. Paint your nails, but most importantly take some time for yourself and go to bed early.
Especially if you lead a hectic life, take the night to relax and ignore the outside world.
Ignore Halloween and go straight to Christmas
Finally, if Christmas is more your thing than Halloween then by all means ignore the holiday and pretend it doesn’t exist. Watch a Christmas movie, listen to Christmas music the whole thing. Let’s pretend Halloween never existed in the first place.
And if Halloween is your thing then that’s totally fine too! Just remember to be kind to those who might not like the holiday as much. Celebrate Halloween just the way you want. There is no right way.
