Add as preferred source on Google

It’s hard to see what’s going on in a TikTok live when there are hundreds of comments and gifts being thrown about. You can miss what’s happening, or be incredibly distracted. Sometimes, the chat box can move so fast that you can’t keep up with what’s being said. So, it can just be better to turn it off completely. Here’s how to hide the chat and comments on a TikTok live as a viewer.

The spam from a TikTok Live can be unbearable. The chat is just full of emojis, questions and gifts, and all you wanted to do was watch your favourite content creator. Luckily, there is a way to enjoy streams and lives without constant distractions.

How To Hide The Chat And Comments On A TikTok Live As A Viewer

Getting rid of all the commotion is super easy. All you have to do is whilst your watching a TikTok live, hold down on the middle of the screen. After a second, you should feel a haptic which will then bring up an options menu.

One of the options will say ‘clear display’ and you need to click it. That should empty your screen of the comments, gifts and other things that pop up in the chat.

Now, you can watch the TikTok live undisturbed.

If you want to bring the chat and comments back, then just hold down on the screen again and click ‘show display’.

How To Find TikTok Lives

Finding TikTok lives isn’t as easy as getting your Following or For You page up. However, it is available on the home screen. In the top left corner, there should be an icon that looks like a little TV. Inside the TV will say ‘live’. Click that, and you’ll have access to all the lives that are currently streaming. Just scroll through til you find one that interests you.

Alternatively, if there is a certain TikToker you’re a little obsessed with, then you can set up notifications for them. This will inform you when they upload and when they go live. Just head to their profile and click the bell icon next to their name above their picture.

One other way is to go to your Following page, where any current lives will appear in a pulsating circle above your feed. You’ll know if an account you follow is doing a TikTok live as they’ll be a little red circle next to ‘Following’ if you’re on your For You page.
