Do you want to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne in style? The Platinum Jubilee is the ultimate time for a celebration, so why not round up your housemates and throw an awesome party fit for a royal? Here are a few things you’ll need to kick the long weekend off in the right way.
Decorations
What’s a Jubilee party without some good ol’ British decorations? We’re talking bunting and Union Jack flags. Every shop I’ve walked in has been selling jubilee themed decs, so you don’t have to worry about them running out any time soon. The Works currently has a range of different and inexpensive supplies, including red, white and blue coloured balloons and flags and Hobbycraft also has some pretty cool bunting kits, paper cups and plates to bring the party together.
Fancy Dress
If you’re going to throw a party, you may as well go all out when it comes to your outfit. Fancy dress will make the occasion memorable… even better if it’s British themed. Why not dress up as the Queen herself or maybe Geri Halliwell’s Union Jack dress is more your vibe?
Party Food
The best thing about any party just has to be the food. Lay the table and go to town on the buffet food. Throwing in a few scones and Victoria sponge cakes is bound to go down well with your guests. Have a right royal knees up and create a feast fit for any King or Queen.
Music
Blasting out classic party tunes on the speakers is key to making everyone feel good. Once the music is on, it’s time to really get the party started. Why not ask your guests to contribute to a Spotify playlist, making sure that everyone’s favourite party hits have a chance to be played throughout the event?
Trivia
You’re having a party in celebration of the Queen right? How much do you really know about her though? Quiz your guests by putting together a few rounds of trivia. It will make for a good laugh even if it leaves everybody completely clueless! Add in a small prize for the winner and you’re guaranteed a good time!
