Over the last couple of weeks the Enough is Enough campaign had launch rallies in London, Liverpool and Manchester. With large turnouts, the fight against the cost-of-living crisis is looking more promising.
Enough is (finally) Enough!
The Enough is Enough campaign started off strong – trending on Twitter and amassing over 35,000 followers on its startup. Currently it has over 192,000 Twitter followers and over 83 thousand on Instagram.
Over and above that, on 30 August the campaign announced that 500,000 people had signed their pledge to say “enough is enough”! Clearly the campaign is having a successful start with many showing interest in the cause.
Wednesday 17 August saw over 1,500 people show up to the launch rally in Clapham, South London. The Socialist Worker reports that the rally was “full of an energetic sense of solidarity and renewed hope”.
The rallies stress the importance of supporting unions and those taking industrial action. Additionally, the rallies serve as a means of hitting back at the Tories and mobilising people to take action against the cost-of-living crisis.
Tickets for the Manchester rally on 30 August sold out well in advance of the rally. In addition, St. George’s Hall in Liverpool was packed with supporters, photos of the event are reminiscent of the crowds seen at gig venues.
The campaign has upcoming rallies Norwich and Glasgow.
