Going to the cinema can whisk you away into a different world and allow you to forget your troubles. But, as popcorn prices rise, so do ticket prices.

Odeon now has a Limitless card, which could be the answer to your cinema issues.

What is a Limitless card?

The Odeon Limitless card is a membership scheme that lets you watch as many films as you want. You can pay monthly, or a one-off annual fee. You are given a unique memberhsip number and ID. This can be kept on the Odeon app, for easy access. You also have a picture of yourself, of your choosing. You can then book seats through the app without paying.

The one catch is that you have to sign up for a minimum of three months. After that, you can cancel whenever you want.

How much does it cost?

A limitless card currently costs £14.99 per month, or £170 for 12 months.

There is an additional £2 for Limitless cards used in West End cinemas.

What benefits do you get?

Obviosuly, the biggest benefit is that you can watch as many films as you want, as often as you like. With the Limitless card, you can also watch films that you may not have paid for. You can expand your taste and sample small indie films or horror, comedy and even foreign movies, that you may not have gone to see without the membership.

With Limitless, you also get 10% off all food and drink at Odeon cinemas. With somewhat pricey food at cinemas, this is a really inviting benefit.

As a member, you are also invited to exclusive screenings. This allows you to watch films before they are released to the general public. These seats usually get booked up quite quickly. However, if you can get yourself a place, this is an amazing perk for the price that you pay.

Is it worth it?

Well, that all depends on you really. How often are you going to the cinema? Tickets cost between £8-£12 usually. So, in order to make the Limitless card worth your while, you need to go to about two or three films each month. If you think you would hit that amount each month, then it is definitley worth the price. Getting a membership may also force you to watch films you may not have watched before and you can figure out other genres that you actually like.

One self-proclaimed cinephile on Black Pistachio said, ‘I would definitley [renew my membership]… my Limitless card has been a God-send.’
