Netflix has dropped the trailer for the upcoming series Wednesday and fans are saying they’re ‘in love’ with Jenna Ortega in the role of Wednesday Adams.
The new Adams Family spin-off is set to drop on the streaming site later this year, but no specific air date has been given, but the trailer is enough to give fans chills for now.
Netflix’s Wednesday
The upcoming series is the latest version of the spook, kooky, family brought to our screens and follows the story of Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.
According to Netflix: ‘Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.’
In the trailer, it’s explained Wednesday has been to eight schools in five years before heading to Nevermore which is headed up by Gwendoline Christie who plays school principal Larissa Weems, a longtime rival of Morticia Addams.
Catherine Zeta-Jones is taking on the role of the family’s matriarch, Morticia Adams – giving off serious Anjelica Huston vibes in the trailer, who played the role back in the 90s movies.
Luis Guzmánstars as her husband Gomez, while Isaac Ordonez, Victor Dorobantu and George Burcea will portray Pugsley, Thing and Lurch respectively.
Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Adams
But the one character fans are losing it over is the main role of Wednesday Adams, who is brought to life on the screen by 19-year-old Jenna Ortega.

The show’s creator Miles Millar spoke to Vanity Fair about the character saying: ‘She’s allowed to torture him. Nobody else is.
‘That’s the difference. She will defend him to the end against bullies or anything else, but she has license to do what she wants. She’s very protective of him in a very Wednesday way.’
However, fans are more obsessed with how perfectly they think Ortega fits the role – some people have said the casting was the ‘right move’ and others have commented saying they’re ‘in love’ with Ortega’s take on the iconic character.
