Let’s set the scene: it’s 9:00pm on Halloween and, even though you hadn’t planned to go out, you’ve just received a last-minute invitation to a party. While you say ‘yes’ in the excitement, it suddenly dawns on you that you haven’t got a costume, and neither has your partner. It’s a race against the clock. With little time and no resources, you begin to panic. We’re here to tell you not to worry, we’ve got it covered. Here is a list of super easy Halloween couple’s costumes that you can DIY in less than an hour from things you already have in your wardrobe.
Sandy and Danny
If you have a lot of black leather in your wardrobe, then this will be an easy couples’ costume for you. For Danny, just throw on some black trousers, a black t-shirt, and a black leather jacket. Sandy will need to wear a black catsuit, or leggings and a black top with a belt, and a pair of red high heels. Finish off the look with big-curled hair for Sandy, and lots of hair gel or *grease* (…get it?) for Danny.
Salt and Pepper
For this costume idea, one of you needs to wear a white t-shirt, while the other will wear a black t-shirt. On the white one, pin on an ‘S’ cut out of black card (or, if you don’t have any, a white piece of paper coloured in), and on the black one, pin on a ‘P’ cut out of white card. Add some hats made from tin foil, and there you have it- salt and pepper shakers!
Barbie and Ken
Barbie and Ken have a lot of different outfits, which means that you can tailor this costume to whatever you already have. You could be an 80s Barbie in workout gear or a fashionista Barbie in a pink dress and cropped jacket. Either way, sprinkle in some pink, something shiny, some high heels and a big bow, and you’re good to go. Ken has a preppy look, which means you could chuck on some slacks (or shorts if the weather allows it), a polo shirt or regular shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and a knit jumper tied around your shoulders.
Men in Black agents
Men in Black agents have a distinct look, which means for a small amount of effort you can recreate the look perfectly and everyone at the party will know exactly who you are. Each of you needs to put on a black suit with a white shirt and a black tie, and some black sunglasses. Ta da, you’re Agent K and Agent J, AKA the Men in Black.
Angel and devil
This is a classic Halloween costume and, to pull it off, one of you will need to wear all white, while the other person wears all red. Throw on a halo for the angel. You can make one out of a headband you already have, some pipe cleaners, and a feather boa (or even loo roll wrapped around pipe cleaners if you’re desperate). For the devil, you can make horns by cutting out some red paper into triangles and gluing them to a red headband.
