If you liked the 1998 hit Sliding Doors with Gwyneth Paltrow, then you are going love Netflix’s soon-to-be-released film, Look Both Ways.
Look Both Ways, previously titled ‘Plus/Minus’, follows Natalie and shows her life if alternative routes had been chosen.
Netflix’s official synopsis is:
‘On the eve of her college graduation, Natalie’s life diverges into two parallel realities: one in which she becomes pregnant and must navigate motherhood as a young adult in her Texas hometown, the other in which she moves to LA to pursue her career. In both journeys throughout her twenties, Natalie experiences life-changing love, devastating heartbreak and rediscovers herself.’
Cast
It was annouced in March 2021 that Lili Reinhart would play the main character in Look Both Ways. Reinhart shot to success after starring as Betty Cooper in the hit drama Riverdale on Netflix.
She has gone on to star in large blockbusters such as Charlie’s Angels and Hustlers alongside Jennifer Lopez.
It was several months before any other actors in this film were named, but now they have, we can see that this is set to be littered with some big names.
Danny Ramirez will play Gabe, most likely the love interest of Reinhart’s character. He is best known for his role in Assassination Nation and was also in the recent revivial of Top Gun.

Director
Look Both Ways will be directed by the multi-award winning director Wanuri Kahiu. She has won many African Academy awards for her films such as From a Whisper and the film that shot her to fame and global success, Rafiki.
When talking at the Golden Globes about Look Both Ways, Kahiu said:
‘It is an incredible story about women’s resilience. On the one hand, it is a story about a young mother… who is trying to figure out how her life works. On the other hand, it is about a young artist doing everything that she can to get a break in the industry that is so hard to get into as a young woman.’
She added, ‘On both sides, it is about women striving for excellence and that is what drew me to it. Either through motherhood or artistry, it is about women striving for excellence.’
Look Both Ways will be released exclusivley on Netflix on 17th August 2022.
