Hotel Prices in Liverpool have risen to an extraordinary amount as the city is confirmed to host Eurovision next year.
The news was announced by Graham Norton on The One Show show last week. Liverpool had won a tight bidding war against Glasgow to host.
But fans of the iconic singing competition may struggle to find a hotel for Eurovision. Hotels and a number of Airbnb listings have already raised their prices across the May weekend.

As reported by the Times, a one-night stay at the Eleanor Rigby hotel will cost £5,580 a night, compared to the £160 per night offered in October 2022. Similarly, Aloft Hotel Liverpool have quadrupled their prices to £569 per night.
Hosts canceling pre-booked hotels
Booking.com has said 99 percent of accommodation in the city is fully booked. But those who had booked before the dates were announced may still be at risk of cancellations. Many are sharing their travel nightmares to Twitter.
User @connorukesc had pre booked a hotel back in June, only for the host to allegedly attempt to cancel after the Eurovision news was announced. Five nights at the hotel was originally from £200 but has now allegedly surged to over £20k.

While it appears Booking.com have heard Connor’s complaint, many others are having the same problem. Peter J Holland shared: “The booking has been canceled and relisted for an eye watering 204% increase.”
Hotels in surrounding areas
The Eurovision contest may also affect surrounding areas of Liverpool. Manchester prices are nowhere near as expensive as Liverpool. Yet, as the city is under an hour away via train from Liverpool, fans of Eurovision may opt to stay there.
One hopeful fan tweeted @RG_Bhaji “If you can’t get a hotel in #Liverpool city centre for #Eurovision, you can still get easy access from the Wirral, St Helens, Southport, Manchester city centre. Even Lancaster, Blackpool and Preston are about an hour’s drive away. #Partytime.”
