The Wanted star Tom Parker has died from terminal cancer, aged 33. As a fan, I am utterly devastated at this news and have taken time to look back on the band’s successful hits over the years as a true celebration of Tom’s life.
#1 – Glad You Came
This is the biggest hit the band has ever made and it is no surprise as it’s just so catchy! Many have grown up with this song, originally being performed by the band before currently trending as a remix by Liilz on Tiktok. Its safe to say that everyone loves this one.
#2 – Chasing The Sun
Chasing The Sun was an absolute banger for the summer! It’s just a feel good tune that everyone loves whether you are a fan of the band or not. The chances are, you’ve heard this one at some point.
#3 – Walks Like Rihanna
‘She can’t sing/ She can’t dance/ But who cares? / She walks like Rihanna!’ This was one of my favourite The Wanted songs and will always have a special place in my heart.
#4 – We Own The Night
Be right back, just crying my eyes out to this one! The lads were so happy in this video and the song just encapsulates how much they all love each other.
#5 – Rule The World
‘We all want to rule the world’ – well Tom certainly ruled our hearts. Rule The World gives me so much nostalgia just listening to it. This was THE tune to listen to back in the day.
#6 – All Time Low
Most people know all the lyrics to this one and, if you don’t, have you been living under a rock for the last ten years? All Time Low is a work of art!
#7 – Gold Forever
This is the most beautiful memory of Tom ever. Every lyric just celebrates his life, with his music and life being a memory that stays ‘gold forever.’ Of course, the band didn’t know how much this one would mean to fans when they wrote it. But it means so much to us all even more now.
#8 – Lightning
Lightning showed of all of their vocals so well and of course, is a classic hit that was always meant to be successful! It’s a love song with that edge that only The Wanted could bring!
#9 – Heart Vacancy
Here’s a little bit of a slower one for us but don’t worry, Heart Vacancy, still pulls on our heartstrings all the same. This song gets you super emotional so prepare yourself before listening.
#10 – Colours
I’ll end on this one because it leaves the perfect legacy to Tom. Let it be that every time we see ‘colours in the sky’ we are reminded of Tom’s colourful and vibrant life.
