Love Island may have come to an end but the drama doesn’t finish there as the contestants now embrace their new lives and for Tasha, it’s becoming eBay’s first-ever re-loved ambassador.á
When Love Island 2022 ended, we knew the usual influx of brand deals was to follow as they’ve become almost a rite of passage for islanders. Although this year, the first brand deal to be announced wasn’t the usual Missguided or Pretty Little Thing – it was eBay.
Dreams Come True For Love Island’s Tasha
Tasha Ghouri, who came fourth place in this year’s show, will be eBay’s first-ever preloved Ambassador. This is a great step toward slow fashion and will encourage so many people to shop secondhand.
It’s no surprise that Tasha was picked by eBay as she had the most standout fashion moments, putting together some showstopping looks. Fans have praised her style since she appeared on screen, dubbing her the “style queen.”
Tasha broke the exciting news in an Instagram post on her 24th birthday yesterday, which read: ‘A birthday gift to last a lifetime. I am over the moon to announce I am @eBay_uk first ever pre-loved ambassador. Prior to Love Island, I’ve always bought secondhand for my wardrobe, so partnering with #eBay really is a dream come true.
‘I feel passionately that we can all make little swaps to our wardrobes and our lives for the better and so I’m excited to join eBay on their mission to put secondhand fashion front and centre.
‘Plus, I’d like to think over the last 8 weeks I have shown that preloved serves up amazing looks while bringing out my personality! Watch this space, more will be revealed!’
This is eBay’s first partnership with an influencer, and we think Tasha was the best choice. Being labelled as the best dressed on the show, people are surprised and impressed that she didn’t go straight to the fast fashion brands.
eBay Pre-Loved Ambassador
The show has been partnered with eBay all season, meaning most of the looks we saw on screen were secondhand. This was huge and had never been done before on Love Island. Previous partnerships included brands such as I Saw it First.
A survey by Superprof revealed that in July, while Love Island was gracing out screens, 48.*% of UK shoppers said they prefer to buy from preloved and sustainable brands, while just 32.3% prefer fast fashion.
Brett Staniland, an Islander from season 7, who is passionate about sustainability, tweeted out in support of this decision. He thinks Tasha is “perfect” for this role and we couldn’t agree more! I can’t wait to see what looks Tasha comes up with, all while helping the planet.
